About Us
Alabama Ophthalmology Associates was founded in 1976 by Fred Elsas, MD Several years later, Dr. Robert Phillips joined the practice from Jefferson Clinic at Cooper Green Hospital. The practice continued to grow and today has 6 board-certified ophthalmologists. The physicians of Alabama Ophthalmology Associates provide surgical and medical eye care from treating problems that require a cornea, pediatric, strabismus or oculoplastic sub-specialist to comprehensive eye exams. Our physicians see patients from all age groups and in some cases see patients from all over the world. We welcome the opportunity to serve you and your family.
